LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Patrick Casilio, Jr. upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achiever of the Year
Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Patrick Casilio, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Lifetime Achiever of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Clarence, New York, Patrick Casilio,
Jr. is a leader and role model for his community; his passion and
active dedication to the town he grew up in has created a legacy to be
remembered; and
WHEREAS, As the oldest of five children, Patrick Casilio, Jr.'s lead-
ership and philanthropic ways began at an early age and were instilled
by his father, Patrick Casilio, Sr.; when he was just 19 years old he
became an active member of the Clarence Volunteer Fire Department, where
he served as Assistant Chief and Chief for several years; today, he
still remains an integral part of the Department; and
WHEREAS, In 1990, Patrick Casilio, Jr. displayed an immense selfless
act of bravery when responding to a fire call; after receiving a call
about two police officers that were shot and wounded during an alterca-
tion with a gunman, he rushed to the scene, and drove his car in between
the gunman and one of the wounded officers, heroically saving the offi-
cer's life; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Casilio, Jr. has justly received numerous awards,
including Fireman of the Year, a Public Service Medal from the New York
State Bar Association, and the Citizen of the Year Award from the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, A faithful member of the Our Lady of Peace Church in
Clarence, Patrick Casilio, Jr. serves as an Usher and was a past Treas-
urer of the Holy Names Society; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Casilio, Jr. is also a coach for the Clarence Girls
Softball League and served as President on the Clarence Sports Park
Association; currently he acts as a member of the Boards of Directors
for the Clarence Rotary Foundation, the Brother's of Mercy Foundation,
and the ECMC Lifetime Foundation; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, Patrick Casilio, Jr. was elected a Clarence Town
Councilman; during his tenure in this position he was appointed Deputy
Supervisor, and oversaw several programs to help improve the safety of
the town, which included spearheading the creation of the Public Safety
Department; he is also an active member of the Erie County Sheriff's
Reserve; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Casilio, Jr. has always taken an active part of any
community to which he belongs; he has given of his time, knowledge and
resources to help various organizations and causes to reach their goals;
and
WHEREAS, In addition to all of his accomplishments, Patrick Casilio,
Jr. holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Casilio Companies,
a real estate and construction company founded by his father in 1965;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Patrick Casilio, Jr.

has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of his colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of over 30 years,
Susan, and his three daughters, Catherine, Christine, and Carolyn, all
of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Patrick Casilio, Jr. has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patrick Casilio, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Lifetime Achiever of the Year Award by the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patrick Casilio, Jr.
