LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Gianna Ingersoll upon the occasion
of receiving the distinguished Girl Scout Silver Award, a prestigious
Scouting honor

WHEREAS, Gianna Ingersoll will be honored with the Girl Scout Silver
Award, Cadette Scouting's highest award and Girl Scouting's second high-
est achievement, at the West Hempstead/Franklin Square Association of
Girl Scouts' Awards Night on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Polk Street
School, Franklin Square, New York; and
WHEREAS, Gianna Ingersoll, the daughter of Dave and June Ingersoll of
Garden City South, New York, is a member of Girl Scout Troop 1325; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our Nation's young people the
goals of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of work-
ing with others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling pride, and
encouraging community service and success; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of the countless
hundreds of thousands who have participated in Scouting programs which
have made Scouting an American and international institution; and
WHEREAS, For her Silver Award community service project, Gianna Inger-
soll beautified Bertini Gardens; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year period; it is
tangible evidence of Gianna Ingersoll's high character and commitment,
and is a harbinger of her future service to her community, New York
State and our Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Gianna Ingersoll upon the occasion of receiving the distin-
guished Girl Scout Silver Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gianna Ingersoll.
