LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jeffrey Weingart upon the occasion of
his designation as 2015 EMT Person of the Year by the Greenport Fire
Department

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who give
outstanding service to the people of the Empire State and whose extraor-
dinary achievements save the lives of their fellow citizens should be
recognized because their efforts so profoundly strengthen our shared
commitment to family and community life; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jeffrey Weingart upon the occasion of his designation as 2015 EMT Person
of the Year by the Greenport Fire Department, to be celebrated at its
Installation of Officers Dinner on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at East Wind
Inn and Spa, Wading River, New York; and
WHEREAS, Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the
survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or
injury; and
WHEREAS, On many occasions, Jeffrey Weingart has acted with bravery
and steady precision in dealing with the risk and drama of emergency
situations; and
WHEREAS, In the performance of his duties, Jeffrey Weingart has demon-
strated his character and his compassion for the welfare of others; he
is a tremendous asset to his EMT Unit and a distinguished citizen of the
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, this esteemed man has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Jeffrey Weingart has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body cannot express sufficient gratitude to
those devoted individuals who recognize that the preservation of life is
a sacred responsibility and who make that responsibility their own by
serving as Emergency Medical Technicians; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jeffrey Weingart upon the occasion of his designation as 2015 EMT
Person of the Year by the Greenport Fire Department; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jeffrey Weingart.
