LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Chase Prairie upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chase Prairie
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Chase Prairie has distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Chase Prairie, a student at James I. O'Neill High School in
Highland Falls, New York, is ranked 19th in his class with a 95.27 GPA;
he participated in numerous sports including football, basketball and
baseball, where he served as team captain; and
WHEREAS, A member of National Honor Society, Youth in Government and
the JROTC program, Chase Prairie has also served as Senior Class Presi-
dent and President of the Student to Student Club; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Chase Prairie
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Chase Prairie may stand with pride in his achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Chase Prairie represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chase Prairie upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Chase Prairie.
