LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kevin Ward upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kevin Ward
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Kevin Ward has distinguished
himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Ward, a student at Goshen Senior High School in Goshen,
New York, has earned a 97.29 GPA; he participated in numerous sports
including soccer, alpine skiing, and golf; and
WHEREAS, A member of National Honor Society and the World Language
Honor Society, Kevin Ward is active in his community as a member of the
Boy Scouts of America and Beautiful People; he plans to attend Syracuse
University and major in mechanical engineering; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Kevin Ward has
brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Ward may stand with pride in his achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Ward represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kevin Ward upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future endeav-
ors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kevin Ward.
