LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Grant Harman upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Grant Harman
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Grant Harman has distinguished
himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Grant Harman, a student at Liberty High School in Liberty,
New York, ranked 19th in his class with a 88.83 GPA; he participated in
numerous sports including baseball, football and basketball; and
WHEREAS, A student liaison to the Superintendent of Liberty High
School, Grant Harman plans to attend Hartwick College and major in pre-
medical while continuing to play football; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Grant Harman enjoys assisting
with the youth basketball program and volunteers his time and energy
working at various food and toy drives; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Grant Harman
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Grant Harman may stand with pride in his achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Grant Harman represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Grant Harman upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Grant Harman.
