LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Joseph Brunning upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Joseph Brun-
ning upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Joseph Brunning has distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Brunning, a student at Middletown High School in
Middletown, New York, ranked 13th in his class with a 97 GPA; he is a
vital member of the golf team, and enjoys tutoring his fellow students;
and
WHEREAS, A member of National Honor Society, All-County Band, All-
County Jazz Band and the marching band, Joseph Brunning plans to attend
college and major in engineering; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Joseph Brunning participates on
the Mayor's Youth Council; in addition, he volunteers his time and ener-
gy working with Habitat for Humanity and assisting at local blood
drives, community clean-ups, and Night Out Against Crime; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Joseph Brunning
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Brunning may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he contin-
ues his education; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Brunning represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joseph Brunning upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joseph Brunning.
