LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brook Megna upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brook Megna
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Brook Megna has distinguished
herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Brook Megna, a graduating senior at Warwick Valley High
School in Warwick, New York, is ranked 20th in her class with a 94.61
GPA; she plans to continue her education at Binghamton University where
she will major in biology while competing in softball; and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, Brook Megna also
participates in EMS, softball and is captain of the soccer team; in
addition, she is a Beautiful People volunteer, a NYSPHSAA Scholar-Ath-
lete, and a recreational basketball coach; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Brook Megna has
brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Brook Megna may stand with pride in her achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she continues
her education; and
WHEREAS, Brook Megna represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brook Megna upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brook Megna.
