LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bristol Woods upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Bristol Woods
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Bristol Woods has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Bristol Woods, a student at Sullivan West Central School, is
ranked first in her class with a 94.51 GPA; she also participated in
numerous sports including cross country, alpine skiing and softball; and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, this esteemed young
woman is Valedictorian of her class, and served as Vice-President of the
Spanish Club and School Store; she is also active in such extracurric-
ular activities as Ski Club, Band, Pep Band, and Chorus; and
WHEREAS, Bristol Woods has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; she has graciously volunteered her time with
the Youngsville Veterinary Clinic, Rocky's Refuge, Delaware Youth
Center, and the Franklin Lakes Lion's Club; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Bristol Woods
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Bristol Woods may stand with pride in her achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she continues
her education in Veterinary Technology; and
WHEREAS, Bristol Woods represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bristol Woods upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in all her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bristol Woods.
