LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jill Eichmann Katchmar upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the CYO-Troy Youth Associ-
ation, Inc. on June 9, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Jill Eichmann Katchmar has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jill Eichmann
Katchmar upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the CYO-Troy Youth Association, Inc., to be observed at its 12th Annual
William J. Pascarell Person of the Year Celebration on Thursday, June 9,
2016, at the Italian Community Center, Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Jill Eichmann Katchmar has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A Troy City School graduate and longtime member of the CYO
Center family, Jill Eichmann Katchmar has been involved with this vital
organization since the age of seven; she served as a CIT and Junior
Counselor with the CYO Day Camp; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jill Eichmann Katchmar has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, The proud mother of four children, Jill Eichmann Katchmar
returned to the CYO Family as a Counselor in the After-School Childcare
Program; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Jill Eichmann Katchmar has served as a volunteer
for the CYO during its last three Troy Turkey Trot events, and was meri-
toriously cited for her heroic action during last year's race, saving
the life of a participant; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Jill Eichmann Katchmar has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jill Eichmann Katchmar upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the CYO-Troy Youth Association, Inc. on June 9,
2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jill Eichmann Katchmar.
