LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Timothy J. Conway upon the occasion
of his retirement as Superintendent of the Brewster Central School
District

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of its esteemed
residents; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway has announced his retirement as Super-
intendent of the Brewster Central School District; he will be honored
during a Brewster Central School District Board of Education meeting on
June 7, 2016, and during a celebration to be held at Cafe on the Green
on June 14, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway is a graduate of LeMoyne College and
Long Island University; he earned a Doctorate in Education from Manhat-
tanville College; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway came to the Brewster Central School
District with more than 25 years of experience in public education,
particularly in the areas of curriculum, human resources, and finance;
and
WHEREAS, Immediately before his tenure at Brewster, Dr. Timothy J.
Conway served as Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for
Business for the Enlarged City School District of Middletown; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway came to Brewster as Assistant Super-
intendent for Administration and Business in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway became Deputy Superintendent in 2011;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway has served as Superintendent since 2014
and has announced his retirement from this position effective in July of
2016; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway worked tirelessly to expand digital
learning, establish a consistent English language curriculum for kinder-
garten through fifth grade, and improve safety and facilities district-
wide; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Conway has been a tremendous asset to the
Brewster Central School District and an inspiration to its faculty,
staff, and students; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Timothy J. Conway upon his well-deserved retirement as Super-
intendent of the Brewster Central School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Timothy J. Conway.
