LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Olean High School Band upon
the occasion of winning a Silver Rating at the 2016 NYSSMA Major Organ-
ization Adjudication Festival

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals who best demonstrate their commitment in excellence and success
to music education in their schools; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize those
young people within our community, who, by achieving outstanding success
in music, have inspired and brought pride to their school district and
community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Olean High School Band, upon the occasion of winning a Silver
Rating at the 2016 NYSSMA Major Organization Adjudication Festival; and
WHEREAS, The Olean High School Band performed level-four selections
and received a tremendous score at NYSSMA; the positive feedback these
students received from the judges is something they can carry with them
into the future; and
WHEREAS, This top music program is led by Director Jason Fox, who is a
leader by example in music style perfection and brilliance; and
WHEREAS, The Olean High School Band, comprised of different age groups
from eighth grade through twelfth, demonstrates all of the necessary
attributes and skills to achieve success; and
WHEREAS, Musically and academically, the Olean High School Band have
proven themselves to be a tremendous combination of talents, reflecting
favorably on their school; and
WHEREAS, Observing that special recognition should be given to those
who work so assiduously for the betterment of their schools and communi-
ties in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Olean High School Band upon the occasion of winning a
Silver Rating at the 2016 NYSSMA Major Organization Adjudication
Festival; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the members of the Olean High School Band, and Director Jason
Fox.
