LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Matthew Cimino upon the occasion of
being selected as the 2016 Valedictorian of Hicksville High School

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, the leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exem-
plify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Matthew Cimino upon the occasion of being selected as the 2016 Valedic-
torian of Hicksville High School; and
WHEREAS, A young man of singular distinction, Matthew Cimino has
distinguished himself as a scholar of superlative ability, establishing
a high standard of academic excellence and purposefulness of life rarely
achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Through his diligence and rigorous efforts, Matthew Cimino
has earned a 103.5 GPA; after graduation, he plans to major in Civil or
Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University; and
WHEREAS, Matthew Cimino, in achieving this high academic honor, may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; and
WHEREAS, As Matthew Cimino takes his leave of Hicksville High School,
he bequeaths a legacy of academic achievement, school involvement and
community service to which others may aspire; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
students of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and commit-
ment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and acting
as role models of leadership to be emulated by their peers; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Matthew Cimino upon the occasion of being selected as the 2016
Valedictorian of Hicksville High School, to recognize him for his
outstanding academic achievement, and to extend to him the best wishes
of this Legislative Body for a future of purposeful success and well-be-
ing, fully confident of his response to a promising future and appreci-
ative of the model he represents for all aspiring young people of the
Empire State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Matthew Cimino.
