LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Beverly Bondley upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by Hope House
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Beverly Bondley has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Beverly
Bondley upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
Hope House which was celebrated at its Annual Circle of Hope Dinner on
Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Wolfert's Roost Country Club, Albany,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Hope House was founded over 45 years ago in recognition of
the need in the community to have quality substance abuse treatment
services available in Upstate New York; and
WHEREAS, Hope House has grown into multiple programs providing
services for adults, adolescents, and women with children, as well as
outpatient and preventative services, mental health services, and a
supportive housing program; and
WHEREAS, Beverly Bondley graduated from Cornell University in 1957
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry, and worked at Sterling
Winthrop Institute for her entire career where she was a Principal
Research Scientist; she retired in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Beverly Bondley has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A generous supporter of Hope House, Beverly Bondley is
particularly passionate about assisting clients in the Hope House's
Women and Children's Program; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Beverly Bondley has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Beverly Bondley has also been painting since she
was 10 years old; her paintings will be shown at an art exhibit of the
Oakroom Artists at the Unitarian Society in Schenectady, New York, in
March of 2015; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Beverly Bondley upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Hope House; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Beverly Bondley.
