LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending G. Kimball Williams upon the occasion
of his designation for special recognition by the Legal Aid Society of
Northeastern New York

WHEREAS, From time to time, this Legislative Body takes note of certain
individuals that it wishes to recognize for having given of their time
and energies to serve the best interests of their communities and to
publicly acknowledge their service; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend G.
Kimball Williams upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, at its Justice
for All Campaign Reception, on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at the Fort
Orange Club, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York is one of the
oldest legal services organizations in the United States; it provides
effective, free civil legal services and education to people with low
income or other barriers to accessing the legal system in its 16-county
service area; and
WHEREAS, In 2004, Capital Region law firms founded The Legal Aid Soci-
ety of Northeastern New York's Justice for All Campaign; throughout the
past decade, the Society raised significant funds to provide legal
support to low-income families and individuals with urgent non-criminal
legal problems; and
WHEREAS, G. Kimball Williams graduated from Hamilton College in 1971,
and earned his law degree from Case Western University School of Law in
1975; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man is a Principal in the law firm McNamee,
Lochner, Titus and Williams, P.C.; and
WHEREAS, G. Kimball Williams is a past President of the Legal Aid
Society of Northeastern New York, and served as Co-Chair of its Justice
for All Campaign from 2006 to 2008; he advocated for his law firm to
join the campaign in 2004, and continues to work for the campaign to
ensure that firms renew and increase their annual pledges; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, G. Kimball Williams has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which G. Kimball Williams has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend G. Kimball Williams upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to G. Kimball Williams.
