LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Trooper Anthony R. Cordick upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the Kevin P. Dobson Traffic
Safety Award by the New York State Police on May 26, 2016
WHEREAS, The quality and sanctity of community life are cherished values
worthy of safeguarding, and this Legislative Body is moved to honor
those exemplary public servants who devote their lives to preserving and
protecting such values; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Trooper Anthony R. Cordick upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Kevin P. Dobson Traffic Safety Award by the New York
State Police to be celebrated at the 40th Annual Awards Day Ceremony on
Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the University at Albany Performing Arts
Center, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Trooper Anthony R. Cordick has proudly served as a member of
the New York State Police since June 10, 2013; he is currently assigned
to State Police Plattsburgh Station, Troop B, and resides in Platts-
burgh, New York; and
WHEREAS, A vital leader with a passion for helping others, Trooper
Anthony R. Cordick has educated and affected thousands of motorists in
his efforts to increase highway safety; and
WHEREAS, For the past three years, Trooper Anthony R. Cordick has
provided outstanding service to the New York State Police, distinguish-
ing himself in numerous areas of law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, From January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2015, Trooper Anthony
R. Cordick investigated 46 motor vehicle accidents and issued 782
Uniform Traffic Tickets; in addition, he made 56 Driving While Intoxi-
cated arrests, 35 drug arrests, and conducted over 50 Drug Recognition
Expert evaluations; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Trooper Anthony R. Cordick
has demonstrated his character and compassion for the welfare of others,
personifying the collective concern of Troopers across the community of
the State of New York who serve and protect the public; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those dedicated
public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the preservation
of order and the protection of others are worthy and due full praise for
their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Trooper Anthony R. Cordick upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Kevin P. Dobson Traffic Safety Award by the New York
State Police; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Trooper Anthony R. Cordick.
