LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Casa Boricua Senior Center for its
support of the Bronx's aging Latino communities
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose purposeful
endeavors serve to enhance the quality of life for the cherished senior
citizens in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Casa Boricua Senior Center for its support of the Bronx's aging Latino
communities; and
WHEREAS, For many years, the Casa Boricua Senior Center has been at
the forefront in helping minority populations in the Bronx, providing
the services its senior citizens deserve and uplifting the community in
the process; and
WHEREAS, Casa Boricua Senior Center offers a variety of programs for
seniors, including volunteer opportunities, health services, case
assistance, and daily meals; and
WHEREAS, A vital part of the Bronx community, Casa Boricua Senior
Center also provides fitness and recreational centers, as well as sewing
rooms and activity salons for the benefit of the elder Latino residents;
and
WHEREAS, The success of the Casa Boricua Senior Center is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeav-
ors on behalf of this institution and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This significant milestone is an excellent opportunity to
recognize the special contributions of Casa Boricua Senior Center and
the dedicated individuals who strive to better the quality of life for
Latino senior citizens in the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those organiza-
tions which enhance the well-being and vitality of residents of their
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Casa Boricua Senior Center for its support of the Bronx's aging
Latino communities; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Casa Boricua Senior Center, Bronx, New York.
