LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Arturo Schomburg Senior Center for
its ceaseless dedication to local Senior Citizens

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those organizations which provide essential care and support-
ive services for elderly and disabled people, and serve to enhance the
quality of life for our loved ones; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Arturo Schomburg Senior Center for its ceaseless dedication to local
Senior Citizens; and
WHEREAS, The Arturo Schomburg Senior Center provides a positive and
enrichment filled outlet for the area's Seniors; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, this vital institution offers a variety of
services including lunch, parties and physical recreation; and
WHEREAS, The Arturo Schomburg Senior Center truly enhances the overall
quality of life among the senior population and is an asset within the
community it so ably serves; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 14 year history, the Arturo Schomburg
Senior Center has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
community which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Arturo Schomburg Senior Center is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is,
and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Arturo Schomburg
Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when insti-
tutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Arturo Schomburg Senior Center for its ceaseless dedication
to local Senior Citizens; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Arturo Schomburg Senior Center.
