LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Rhonda Pollino upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Rising Star Award by the Seneca
County Chamber of Commerce on January 22, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to publicly recognize
those extraordinary individuals who have made contributions to the
success and progress of society in the course of their life's work; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rhonda Pollino upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2015 Rising Star Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, to be
celebrated at its Annual Dinner Meeting on Friday, January 22, 2016, at
Waterloo/Seneca Falls Holiday Inn, Waterloo, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Rising Star Award is given to a young professional (40 or
under) who has made outstanding contributions to their profession or
life's work and/or devoted their time and effort in the greater Seneca
County community improving the quality of life for others; and
WHEREAS, Born in Geneva, New York, on July 14, 1981, to Kristine
Marble and the late Ron Jasper, Rhonda Pollino graduated from Mynderse
Academy in 1999; she went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Technical
Theater from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2003; and
WHEREAS, Since December 15, 2014, Rhonda Pollino has held the position
of Executive Director of the Seneca County House of Concern; under her
luminous leadership, this vital organization strives to help those in
need with basic needs such as food, clothes and household items and to
treat everyone with dignity and respect; and
WHEREAS, The Seneca County House of Concern has been a source of
assistance for people in difficult situations for over 40 years; the
food pantry has been a source of nourishment for those in need while the
store, staff and volunteers continue to nourish all who enter the store
with kindness and a smile; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda Pollino and the exceptional staff, volunteers, and
Board of Directors of the Seneca House of Concern have enthusiastically
spread the word about their mission, and subsequently, shown its commu-
nity all of the amazing work which is being done for their neighbors in
need; support from individuals, businesses, agencies, churches and civic
organizations has been overwhelmingly positive, building numerous new
partnerships and collaborations to better serve the public; and
WHEREAS, The Seneca County House of Concern's First Annual Thanksgiv-
ing Dinner, in collaboration with the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge and TRAC
Team, was a huge success; 52 volunteers spent 25 hours of preparation,
serving and cleaning over a two-day period providing 502 dinners to
hungry neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda Pollino has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, When she is not working or spending time with her friends and
family, Rhonda Pollino serves as a member of the American Red Cross
Board of Directors, holds the position of President of the Seneca Commu-
nity Players and is a participant of the Seneca Falls Rotary; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Rhonda Pollino has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her loving husband, Anthony
Pollino, her treasured daughter, Anna Kristine and her beloved dog,
Reggie, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice
in her achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Rhonda Pollino has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rhonda Pollino upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2015 Rising Star Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rhonda Pollino.
