Senate Resolution No. 1026

COMMENDING the 70-year practitioner for his seven
decades of dedicated service to the Bar Association
of Nassau County on May 13, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those singular individuals who devote their purposeful
lives and careers to preserving the rights and protecting the welfare of
the citizens of their community and the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the 70-year practitioner for his seven decades of dedicated
service to the Nassau County Bar Association at its 118th Annual Dinner
Dance of the Association on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Marriott
Hotel in Uniondale, Long Island; and

WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding citizens of New York State
who, through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to
better the quality of life in their communities; and

WHEREAS, For 70 years, Robert W. Corcoran has proudly served as a
member of the Bar Association of Nassau County; and

WHEREAS, With quiet dignity, kindness and grace, this exceptional
public servant has served as a tireless advocate for the less fortunate,
a strong voice for the voiceless, and an inspiration to his colleagues,
to scores of volunteers, and to countless others who labor in pursuit of
equal access to justice for all; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and
community service, a period of constructive involvement, this remarkable
individual has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the 70-year practitioner for his seven decades of dedicated
service to the Bar Association of Nassau County on May 13, 2017; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Robert W. Corcoran.
