COMMENDING Cynthia Litman upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by Residents for
a More Beautiful Port Washington
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that the quality
and character of life in the communities of New York State are
reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of organizations and
individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of the community and
its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Cynthia Litman upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington to be
celebrated at its Annual Gala Dinner on Friday, March 17, 2017, at
Leonard's of Great Neck, New York; and
WHEREAS, Since 1968, Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington
has been dedicated to creating a strong, unified and sustainable
community in Port Washington, New York, and its surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, Each year at its Annual Gala Dinner, Residents for a More
Beautiful Port Washington proudly honors those individuals who have
worked to support its mission of helping to make Port Washington an
outstanding community in which to live and work; and
WHEREAS, A popular blogger, Cynthia Litman, uses her webpage, Mommas
Pearls, as an outlet to remember, re-purpose and pass down generational
wisdom from her maternal grandparents, while capturing the memories and
lessons unfolding before her eyes; and
WHEREAS, In her community, Cynthia Litman founded a channel for her
fellow moms, MomTime Events, where she features local business partners,
charitable partners and women in business; from movie events, restaurant
gatherings, beauty nights and professional workshops, the women who
attend MomTime can expect a lot of fun in a collaborative, inspiring and
resourceful community; and
WHEREAS, Cynthia Litman has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of her time unstintingly; through her local events and support of
entrepreneurs in Port Washington, she reminds everyone who lives in Port
Washington of the beauty in the local community and how special it is;
and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Craig, and their
two children, Colby and Casey, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cynthia Litman upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cynthia Litman.
