HONORING Jean Halpern, RN upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Leadership in
Education Award by the SUNY Orange Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this
great State; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jean
Halpern, RN upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Leadership in Education Award by the SUNY Orange Foundation, to be
celebrated at its Leadership Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 5,
2017, at Kaplan Hall, Newburgh, New York; and

WHEREAS, An educator within the SUNY Orange Nursing Department, Jean
Halpern serves as a caring, competent and committed leader, whose
character and integrity are the hallmarks of her life and work as an
educational leader, a community volunteer and as a person; and

WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and
the success of the SUNY Orange Nursing Department is due in large part
to the efforts of Jean Halpern; and

WHEREAS, The SUNY Orange community is indeed fortunate and blessed
to have such a dedicated and respected educational leader; her wisdom
and contributions truly make a difference in the lives of those lucky
enough to work; with her throughout have been her husband, and their
children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and
rejoice in her achievements; and

WHEREAS, A significant contributor to education in New York State,
Jean Halpern has continually demonstrated an impressive dedication, an
unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for the quality of
the educational programs and opportunities offered at SUNY Orange for
the benefit of its faculty and nursing students, as well as for the
entire community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jean Halpern, RN upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Leadership in Education Award by the SUNY Orange Foundation; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jean Halpern, RN.
