Senate Resolution No. 1370

CONGRATULATING Hayly Fredrickson and Logan
Fredrickson upon the occasion of winning the New
York State Public High School Athletic Association
Alpine Ski Team Championship

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
those young people within our community who, by achieving outstanding
success in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to
their school district and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Hayly Fredrickson and Logan Fredrickson upon the occasion
of winning the New York State Public High School Athletic Association
Alpine Ski Team Championship; and

WHEREAS, Hayly Fredrickson and Logan Fredrickson, twins, were born
on November 7, 2002, to loving parents, Kelly and Dona Fredrickson, at
Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York; and

WHEREAS, The 2017 New York State Public High School Athletic
Association Alpine Ski Team Championship will go down in the record
books because of the outstanding race Hayly and Logan had in the slalom
and giant slalom at Bristol Mountain; they were able to achieve victory
with only two team members when it normally takes three; and

WHEREAS, Hayly Fredrickson and Logan Fredrickson, eighth graders at
Ellicottville Central School, received a team score of 99, securing a
victory for the Ellicottville girls as they defeated Honeoye
Falls-Lima's score of 97 for first place, out of eight sectional
champion teams; and

WHEREAS, When Hayly Fredrickson and Logan Fredrickson are not
practicing for their next ski race, they enjoy soccer, track, and most
of all spending time with family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved through strenuous practice and team spirit, nurtured by
dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those high school athlete-scholars who have achieved notable
success in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Hayly Fredrickson and Logan Fredrickson for their
perseverance and dedication in aspiring for success in their high school
skiing career, and for winning the New York State Public High School
Athletic Association Alpine Ski Team Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hayly Fredrickson and Logan Fredrickson.
