Senate Resolution No. 1704

COMMEMORATING the 10th Anniversary of ROCKS on
April 30, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly recognize those businesses within the State of New York
which have positively impacted their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 10th Anniversary of ROCKS to be celebrated on Sunday,
April 30, 2017, in Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Over the last decade, ROCKS has hosted numerous events,
fundraisers, community mixers, celebrations and, at times, a community
gathering place to express grief; these events have raised significant
funds, supporting local, national and international causes as diverse as
book drives, pet adoptions, and disaster relief; and

WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed establishment has partnered with
several local agencies to assist targeted and diverse youth within the
Capital District; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 10 year history, ROCKS has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of ROCKS is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the establishment and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to ROCKS; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 10th Anniversary of ROCKS on April 30, 2017; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to ROCKS, Albany, New York.
