HONORING Jessica Flash upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2016 Citizen of the
Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the
great State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Flash has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jessica Flash upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2016 Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce
on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Niagara Falls,
New York; and

WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Year Award is presented annually to
businesses and individuals who have graciously given of their time and
energy and have truly made Grand Island a better place to live and work;
these individuals are the foundation and spirit of their great
community; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Flash has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jessica Flash has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Jessica Flash has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jessica Flash upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2016 Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jessica Flash.
