HONORING Sue Marston upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2016 Citizen of the
Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention
to the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of
New York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Sue Marston has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sue Marston
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2016 Citizen of
the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, May
11, 2017, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Niagara Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Year Award is presented annually to
businesses and individuals who have graciously given of their time and
energy and have truly made Grand Island a better place to live and work;
these individuals are the foundation and spirit of their great
community; and
WHEREAS, Sue Marston has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Sue Marston has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Sue Marston has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sue Marston upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2016 Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of
Commerce on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in
Niagara Falls, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sue Marston.
