CONGRATULATING Hayleigh Palotti upon the occasion
of capturing the New York State Public High School
Athletic Association Section V Class C Cross Country
Championship

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor outstanding young people who demonstrate the qualities that lead
to success in athletics, academics and life in this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize
those young people within our community who, by achieving outstanding
success in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to
their school district and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Hayleigh Palotti upon the occasion of capturing the New
York State Public High School Athletic Association Section V Class C
Cross Country Championship; and

WHEREAS, This was truly an outstanding season for Hayleigh Palotti
and one that will go down in the record books for all time; she is a
two-time LCAA champion, McQuaid Invitational champion, and has now
achieved top status as a New York State Champion; and

WHEREAS, Hayleigh Palotti's outstanding 18 second (18:29 time)
victory is an historic milestone that marks the first State individual
championship in Livonia cross country history; her steadfast dedication
and commitment are exceptional, and her finishing speed demonstrates her
stamina,endurance and will to win; and

WHEREAS, This is a huge victory for the community, Livonia Central
School District and especially for Coach Dave Crabb, as Hayleigh is his
first State champion in a 30-plus-year career; and

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved through strenuous practice and team spirit, nurtured by
dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those high school athlete-scholars who have achieved notable
success in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Hayleigh Palotti for her perseverance and dedication in
aspiring for success in her high school Cross Country career, and for
capturing the New York State Public High School Athletic Association
Section V Class C Cross Country Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hayleigh Palotti.
