HONORING Emma Urbaska upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Robert L.
Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 on April 30,
2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Emma Urbaska upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692, to
be celebrated at its 47th Annual Loyalty Day Ceremony on Sunday, April
30, 2017, in Colonie, New York; and

WHEREAS, Loyalty Day is a commemorative holiday, upon the observance
of which Americans pause to celebrate our freedom and to reaffirm our
allegiance to the United States, while also remembering our
responsibilities to continue the legacy of liberty; and

WHEREAS, As part of the Loyalty Day, "The Celebration of
Patriotism," event, Emma Urbaska will be presented the 2016 Latham
Veterans Scholarship Award; and

WHEREAS, A young woman of singular distinction, Emma Urbaska has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability,
establishing a high standard of excellence and purposefulness of life
rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, Emma Urbaska, in achieving this high honor, may take just
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence
she brings to her family, friends, community and school; and

WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish Emma Urbaska continued success throughout her school years
and beyond; and

WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Emma Urbaska represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Emma Urbaska upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 on
April 30, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Emma Urbaska.
