HONORING Benna Eldridge upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2017 Third Age
Achievement Award in Health and Human Services by
Senior Services of Albany

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Benna Eldridge upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2017 Third Age Achievement Award in Health and Human Services by Senior
Services of Albany, to be celebrated at its 21st Annual Third Age
Achievement Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Wolfert's Roost
Country Club, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Each year, this auspicious event recognizes the
contributions that area residents and professionals have made in their
communities during the Third Age of their lives; Benna Eldridge will
receive this award for her valuable achievements and devoted service to
her community after the age of 60; and

WHEREAS, Benna Eldridge is the Director of the Arbor Hill Family and
Neighborhood Resource Center of the Trinity Alliance of the Capital
Region which provides services to the community that will support and
promote healthy families, adults and children; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1912, Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region is
known for its pioneering efforts in social service as well as in health
and wellness delivery; and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Benna Eldridge, the Arbor Hill
Family and Neighborhood Resource Center is dedicated to improving the
neighborhood as a setting for family life, contributing to health and
well-being, and promoting education and employment as a means of
self-development; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Arbor Hill Family and Neighborhood
Resource Center is in direct correlation to the efforts of Benna
Eldridge, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Benna Eldridge has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a

long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Benna Eldridge upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2017 Third Age Achievement Award in Health and Human Services by
Senior Services of Albany; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Benna Eldridge.
