HONORING Sarah Wierzbicki upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
27, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sarah
Wierzbicki upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was
celebrated at its Fourth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 27,
2017, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New York; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Wierzbicki has distinguished herself as a young woman
of superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, A senior at S.S. Seward Institute in Florida, New York,
Sarah Wierzbicki will be attending Binghamton University in Binghamton,
New York, this fall; she plans to major in biology and pursue a
pre-medicine track; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Wierzbicki is currently President of the S.S. Seward
Select Choir and Music Club and has been involved in Coffeehouse
Concerts during her four years of high school; she also is a member of
the National Honor Society and is a four-year varsity athlete; and

WHEREAS, As a member of the Art Club, Sarah Wierzbicki participates
in both an independent study and community service in the art department
at the school; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Sarah
Wierzbicki has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Wierzbicki may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Wierzbicki represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sarah Wierzbicki upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and
to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sarah Wierzbicki.
