Senate Resolution No. 2418

COMMENDING Gavin Donohue upon the occasion of his
resignation after 13 years of distinguished service
to the Albany Convention Center Authority

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Gavin Donohue upon the occasion of his resignation after 13
years of distinguished service to the Albany Convention Center
Authority; and

WHEREAS, As Chairperson of the Albany Convention Center Authority
(ACCA), Gavin Donohue served with loyalty, honor and distinction; he was
governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of
human problems in his official acts; and

WHEREAS, In this esteemed position, Gavin Donohue completed the
project of building a convention center in downtown Albany, New York;
and

WHEREAS, After 13 years of dedicated service to the endeavor, The
Albany Capital Center opened in March of 2017; and

WHEREAS, Gavin Donohue took on and continued the challenging role of
Chairperson of the ACCA, not for any personal benefit, but because he
believed the capital of New York should have a convention center,
recognizing the impact it could have on the City of Albany and beyond;
and

WHEREAS, For the past 13 years, Gavin Donohue rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Albany Convention Center
Authority, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Gavin Donohue upon the occasion of his resignation after 13
years of distinguished service to the Albany Convention Center
Authority, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gavin Donohue.
