COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of Delta Sonic

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
businesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves
through outstanding professional behavior and enduring commitment to the
community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Delta Sonic; and

WHEREAS, Delta Sonic was established in 1967, by Ronald Benderson in
the honeymoon capital of the world, Niagara Falls, New York; and

WHEREAS, During this time, Delta Sonic became known as the "kissing
clean car wash" because of the tender loving care each car received;
customers began to show their "kissing clean" spirit by sporting its
signature "Kiss" bumper sticker, which can still be spotted on cars
today; and

WHEREAS, Today, Delta Sonic has expanded to 29 locations throughout
the country, 10 of which are in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area; and

WHEREAS, Delta Sonic also now has five specialties bundled under its
corporate banner including car washing, gasoline sales, convenience
stores, oil changes and detail shops; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to the community
it so able serves, Delta Sonic supports countless organizations such as
the Buffalo Zoo and Roswell Park Cancer Institute; in addition, the
business also provides scholarship programs to its young employees; and

WHEREAS, The success of Delta Sonic is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the business and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Delta Sonic; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Delta Sonic.
