MOURNING the untimely death of Christopher Page,
beloved English teacher and coach for James I.
O'Neill High School in Highland Falls, New York
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the life
and accomplishments of individuals whose enduring commitment and
dedication significantly enhanced the quality of education in their
community; and
WHEREAS, With deep regret this Legislative Body records the untimely
death of Christopher Page, beloved English teacher and coach for James
I. O'Neill High School in Highland Falls, New York, on Monday, January
1, 2018, at the age of 27; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his short, yet impactful time as an educator and
coach, Christopher Page showed a clear understanding of the breadth of
his role in shaping the futures of the young people entrusted to his
care and instruction; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Page was born to Julie Page on August 28, 1990,
in Newburgh, New York; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Page was an enthusiastic and well-loved English
teacher for James I. O'Neill High School; he was a role model to his
students and always made time available to help them; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his role as teacher, Christopher Page served
as a coach of the Junior Varsity Football Team and Girls Junior Varsity
Basketball Team, and assisted with the Varsity Football Team and the
Boys Lacrosse Team; and
WHEREAS, A kind and generous man, with an infectious smile,
Christopher Page took his position of both teacher and coach very
seriously; with a deep passion and unremitting commitment, he pushed
everyone around him to be better; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Page is survived by his loving mother, Julie;
his two brothers, Daniel Page and Tyriegn Page; and one sister, Tykiesha
Page; as well as a legion of students and colleagues, all of whom are
proud to have known him and been a part of his life; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Page touched the lives of countless students,
athletes, colleagues and members of the James I. O'Neill High School
community; the legacy he leaves behind will long endure; and
WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body mourn the death of Christopher Page, a man of great
kindness, dedication and accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
pay tribute to the memory of Christopher Page, to celebrate his life,
and to acknowledge his many contributions to the James I. O'Neill High
School community and New York State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Christopher Page.
