COMMENDING Robert Kapito upon the occasion of his
induction into the Monticello High School Hall of
Distinction Class of 2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Robert Kapito upon the occasion of his induction into the
Monticello High School Hall of Distinction Class of 2017; this momentous
occasion was celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Arnold
Packer Hughs Auditorium in Monticello High School; and

WHEREAS, A member of the Monticello High School Class of 1975,
Robert Kapito is President and Director of BlackRock, a member of
BlackRock's Global Executive Committee, and Chairman of the Global
Operating Committee; and

WHEREAS, In these capacities, Robert Kapito is responsible for the
day-to-day oversight of all BlackRock's key operating units including
Investment Strategies, Client Businesses, Technology and Operations, and
Risk and Quantitative Analysis; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unremitting commitment to his
community, Robert Kapito also serves as Director of iShares, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Robert Kapito stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Robert Kapito has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhanced the well-being and vitality of their community and showed a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Robert Kapito upon the occasion of his induction into the
Monticello High School Hall of Distinction Class of 2017; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Robert Kapito.
