HONORING Leila Eshaghpour upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Kian Adhami
Distinguished Student Award by SHAI
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Leila Eshaghpour upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Kian Adhami Distinguished Student Award by SHAI, to be celebrated at
its Biennial Gala on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Temple Israel of
Great Neck, New York; and
WHEREAS, Sephardic Heritage Alliance Inc. (SHAI) is a non-profit
organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the local Persian Jewish
community; and
WHEREAS, Leila Eshaghpour, a student at the University of
Pennsylvania, is being recognized with this auspicious award in
recognition of her exceptional achievements within the Persian Jewish
community; and
WHEREAS, A young woman of singular distinction, Leila Eshaghpour has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability,
establishing a high standard of excellence and purposefulness of life
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Leila Eshaghpour, in achieving this high honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Leila Eshaghpour represents the best development of the potential which
is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Leila Eshaghpour upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Kian Adhami Distinguished Student Award by SHAI; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Leila Eshaghpour.
