COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of Benjamin
Cosor Elementary School
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose
exemplary programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate an enduring
pursuit of excellence in the education of the youth of this noble Empire
State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Benjamin Cosor Elementary School;
this momentous occasion will be celebrated throughout the school year in
many creative ways involving the students, staff and Fallsburg
community; and
WHEREAS, To begin the celebration of its Golden Anniversary,
Benjamin Cosor Elementary School placed rocks, which were hand-painted
by every student in the school, at the front entrance sign to welcome
those coming into the building; and
WHEREAS, Located in Fallsburg, New York, Benjamin Cosor Elementary
School serves grades pre-kindergarten through six in the Fallsburg
Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Cosor Elementary School strives to develop its
students into becoming lifelong learners; and
WHEREAS, Approximately 740 students are based in Benjamin Cosor
Elementary School's newly renovated building, with small class sizes
enhancing its dynamic and nurturing learning environment; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of its Principal, Mary Kate
Stinehour, and Assistant Principal, David Viglione, Benjamin Cosor
Elementary School's caring and professional staff of 75 emphasize
critical thinking, verbal and written communication, and computer
skills; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 50-year history, Benjamin Cosor
Elementary School has demonstrated continuous service to the residents
and communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, This vital institution has continually demonstrated an
impressive dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting
enthusiasm for the quality of educational programs and opportunities
offered for the benefit of its faculty and students as well as for the
entire community; and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Cosor Elementary School is proudly aware of its
distinguished past, eager to fulfill its present commitment to parents,
students and the community, and planning with vision and purpose for the
ebb and swell of growth and change it will encounter in the years to
come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Benjamin Cosor Elementary School;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary Kate Stinehour, Principal, Benjamin Cosor Elementary
School.
