HONORING Amy M. McMillan upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2017 SUNY
President's Award for Excellence in Service to the
College

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of life in the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Amy M. McMillan upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2017 SUNY President's Award for Excellence in Service to the College;
and

WHEREAS, Faculty, professional, clerical, and support staff can
enrich the college environment by repeatedly seeking to improve
themselves, the campus, and ultimately, the State University; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award seeks to recognize those individuals
who perform extraordinary service in areas such as governance,
administration, or outreach of the college by consistently exhibiting
excellence in the performance of their duties and/or making
extraordinary contributions to the college beyond their obligations; Amy
M. McMillan is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, Amy M. McMillan, Associate Professor of Biology, has been
called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Amy M. McMillan has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Amy M. McMillan has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Amy M. McMillan, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Amy M. McMillan upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2017 SUNY President's Award for Excellence in Service to the
College; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Amy M. McMillan.
