HONORING Susan Keller-Mathers upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2017 SUNY
President's Award for Excellence in Teaching

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of life in the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Susan Keller-Mathers upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2017 SUNY President's Award for Excellence in Teaching; and

WHEREAS, The President's Award for Excellence in Teaching recognizes
and rewards a professor who consistently demonstrates excellence in
teaching and classroom management; Susan Keller-Mathers is one such
individual; and

WHEREAS, Susan Keller-Mathers, Associate Professor, Center for
Studies in Creativity, has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Professors such as Susan Keller-Mathers, are a key
component of the SUNY faculty, providing top-quality instruction and
making an important contribution to academic success and degree
completion among students; and

WHEREAS, Susan Keller-Mathers, a role model within the SUNY
community, is truly the best of the best, having demonstrated
extraordinary dedication to her students and an exceptional commitment
to teaching excellence; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Susan Keller-Mathers, that future generations may know and appreciate
her admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Susan Keller-Mathers upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2017 SUNY President's Award for Excellence in Teaching;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Susan Keller-Mathers.
