COMMENDING Home Health Aide Training Institute,
Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its Women of
Excellence Awards, and paying tribute to this year's
honorees on March 29, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those women of achievement within the Empire State who
have made strong contributions to their communities and who inspire
others through their model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Home Health Aide Training Institute, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its Women of Excellence Awards, and to pay tribute to this
year's honorees on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Westbury Manor in
Westbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, The theme for the 2018 gala event will be "Nevertheless She
Persisted"; and
WHEREAS, This year's WOE Honorees include: Education, Gloria P.
Dingwall, Principal, Dryden Street School; Finance Industry, Pastor
Audrey D. F. Smart, Owner and Founder, SMARTS Management and
Consultants; Youth Development, Dr. Samarth Joseph, Owner and Founder,
ESPOIR Youth Empowerment; Lifetime Achievement: Woman of Wisdom, Lena
Bly, Client of Home Health Aide Training Institute; Humanitarian, Kayla
Joie Jean-Baptiste, Founder and Owner, A Need to Feed; Longevity Award,
Pastor Sheila M. Beckford, Westbury Methodist Church; Social Justice
Advocate, Candace Coleman, Weekday Facilitator, Riker's Island; and
Family Life Specialist, Kira Bryant; and
WHEREAS, Each and every one of these strong and compassionate women
are receiving this auspicious award for their steadfast and unremitting
commitment to their community, and for their many accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which these remarkable women have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Home Health Aide Training Institute, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its Women of Excellence Awards, and to pay tribute to this
year's honorees on March 29, 2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the aforementioned honorees.
