HONORING Catholic Charities, Schoharie County
Office upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2017 FMS Workforce Development
Board Business Partner of the Year Award by the
Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce on March 23,
2018
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Catholic Charities, Schoharie County Office upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2017 FMS Workforce Development Board
Business Partner of the Year Award by the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony on
Friday, March 23, 2018, in Bouck Hall, at SUNY Cobleskill College,
Cobleskill, New York; and
WHEREAS, Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce's annual business
awards recognize individuals who have been successful in providing
quality products and services to clients and customers, and who have
consistently treated their business associates in a fair and respectable
manner; and
WHEREAS, Located at 489 West Main Street in Cobleskill, New York,
Catholic Charities, Schoharie County Office responds to all persons
regardless of race, creed, or lifestyle, with special emphasis on the
economically poor and the vulnerable; this vital agency serves and
empowers persons in need, advocates for a just society, calls forth and
collaborates with women and men of good will in fulfillment of its
mission; and
WHEREAS, Through Catholic Charities, residents of Schoharie County
are offered many programs and services including Clinical Support
Services/Counseling, Domestic Violence Services residential and
non-residential, Crime Victims Advocacy, Community Service Restitution
Program, Food Pantry, Alternative Dispute Resolution Services, Family
Support Services, Emergency Assistance, and Thrift Shop, as well as a
Child at Risk Response Team; and
WHEREAS, For several years, Catholic Charities has been working with
the Workforce Solutions System and local young people by participating
in the Summer Youth Employment Program, which assists local youth in
gaining important employment experience and a work ethic which will last
a lifetime; and
WHEREAS, Executive Director Lynn Glueckert, and Executive Assistant
Toni Joslin, strive to serve as excellent mentors, ensuring their youth
participants learn not only necessary job skills, but accountability for
their actions; and
WHEREAS, The success of Catholic Charities, Schoharie County Office
is in direct correlation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the institution and the community it serves;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Catholic Charities, Schoharie County Office upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the 2017 FMS Workforce Development Board
Business Partner of the Year Award by the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lynn Glueckert, Executive Director, Catholic Charities,
Schoharie County Office.
