COMMENDING Paul Chirichella upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the
Oyster Bay Lions Club on April 22, 2018

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Paul
Chirichella upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
by the Oyster Bay Lions Club to be celebrated at its 12th Annual Spring
Benefit on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht
Club, Centre Island, New York; and

WHEREAS, Lions Club International is dedicated to being a global
leader in both community and humanitarian service, empowering volunteers
to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and
promote international understanding through Lions Clubs; and

WHEREAS, For 70 years, the Oyster Bay Lions Club has served the
needs of its community, supporting Guide Dogs for the Blind, Lions Eye
Bank for Long Island, and numerous other vital local causes; and

WHEREAS, For 33 years, Paul Chirichella has been a vital member of
the Oyster Bay Lions Club; during this time, he served as President in
1994, and has held the title of Treasurer since 2003; and

WHEREAS, For his steadfast and unremitting commitment to his Club
and community, Paul Chirichella was the recipient of the prestigious
Melvin Jones Fellow Award; and

WHEREAS, Paul Chirichella and his family moved to Bayville, New
York, in 1983; for 20 years, he was employed with the American Credit
Indemnity Company in New York City; and

WHEREAS, In 1984, Paul Chirichella opened a credit business in
Oyster Bay; after 35 years, he decided to semi-retire, and closed the
office; currently, he runs a small operation out of his home; and

WHEREAS, Known for his good nature and sense of humor, Paul
Chirichella truly loves his community, and enjoys spending time with his
cherished family; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of over 50 years,
Maryanne, their three children, Michele, Lisa and Paul, and their five
grandchildren, all of whom have shown him love and support and rejoice
in his many achievements; and


WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Paul Chirichella upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Oyster Bay Lions Club on April 22, 2018; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Paul Chirichella.
