HONORING Cynthia Hunter upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Midge Norman
Volunteer of the Year Award by the Village of Walden
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Cynthia
Hunter upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Midge
Norman Volunteer of the Year Award by the Village of Walden; this
momentous occasion was celebrated at its 7th Annual Leadership Day
Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Municipal Hall; and
WHEREAS, Called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors, Cynthia Hunter has always given of
herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Cynthia Hunter is being recognized with this auspicious
award for her steadfast and unwavering dedication to the betterment of
her community, serving as an outstanding example to its residents; and
WHEREAS, With a sincere dedication to the Village of Walden, Cynthia
Hunter has been a staunch supporter of the local Rotary Club for many
years; she serves on the board for Will Spay Pets, and is an Honor
Flight chaperone and sponsor; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Cynthia Hunter has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Cynthia Hunter has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Cynthia Hunter, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cynthia Hunter upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Midge Norman Volunteer of the Year Award by the Village of
Walden; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cynthia Hunter.
