HONORING Katherine Cavallucci upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the Ronald I.
Jacobowitz Youth of the Year Award by the Village of
Walden

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Katherine Cavallucci upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Ronald I. Jacobowitz Youth of the Year Award by the Village of
Walden; this momentous occasion was celebrated at its 7th Annual
Leadership Day Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at
Municipal Hall; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award is given to a graduating high school
student who displays outstanding leadership, volunteerism, above average
work ethic, and has shown to have a profound impact in their school
and/or community; Katherine Cavallucci is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Valley Central High School, Katherine
Cavallucci has a 101.7 GPA and serves as the Vice President of her class
and as a Dean for the National Honor Society; she volunteers with
Zylofone, a nonprofit group that supports music programs for the special
needs community; and

WHEREAS, Katherine Cavallucci, in achieving this high academic
honor, may take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the
spirit of excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and
school; and

WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Katherine Cavallucci represents the best development of the potential
which is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Katherine Cavallucci upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Ronald I. Jacobowitz Youth of the Year Award by the
Village of Walden; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Katherine Cavallucci.
