HONORING Frederick M. Easton upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2018 Senior
Citizen of the Year Award by the St. Lawrence County
Office for the Aging

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge
to the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their
past contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Frederick M.
"Fred" Easton upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2018 Senior Citizen of the Year Award by the St. Lawrence County Office
for the Aging; and

WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, he has continually
demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in his unwavering service to his community and, consequently,
has been selected for this most prestigious honor; and

WHEREAS, Fred Easton has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Fred Easton, a lifelong resident of Gouverneur, New York,
embodies the principles and ideals that make us proud to be Americans
and has been an active volunteer for many years; and

WHEREAS, He has actively participated in his local community,
coaching baseball teams and sponsoring many local sports programs; and

WHEREAS, This remarkable individual also volunteers at the
Gouverneur Nutrition Center, and is a member of the Gouverneur Elks
Club, Kiwanis Club and Chamber of Commerce as well as the site
supervisor for Riverview Park; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Fred Easton has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Frederick M. Easton upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2018 Senior Citizen of the Year Award by the St.
Lawrence County Office for the Aging; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Frederick M. Easton.
