HONORING Pete DeVantier Jr. upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of a Young
Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Pete DeVantier Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
a Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and
WHEREAS, Pete DeVantier Jr. was selected for this esteemed honor in
recognition of his hard work, ambition, and creativity, as well as for
his profound impact in and around the community of Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, Since the age of 14, Pete DeVantier Jr., who is more
commonly known as JR, has been working beside his father and grandmother
at their local family-run business, the Roscoe Lumber Yard; and
WHEREAS, A 1995 graduate of Roscoe Central School, Pete DeVantier
Jr. has been with the company for 24 years, and currently serves as
co-owner and president alongside his mother; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Pete DeVantier Jr., the Roscoe
Lumber Yard not only provides customers each day with home improvement
and building supplies such as hardware, siding and decking, but also
flooring, painting supplies, plumbing, cleaning supplies, decorative
interiors and much more, both for the construction as well as the
maintenance of one's home or office; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pete DeVantier Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County
Democrat; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Pete DeVantier Jr.
