HONORING Nicole Gorr upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals
Award by the Sullivan County Democrat

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Nicole Gorr upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a Young
Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and

WHEREAS, Nicole Gorr was selected for this esteemed honor in
recognition of her hard work, ambition, and creativity, as well as for
her profound impact in and around the community of Sullivan County; and

WHEREAS, The youngest of six born to Karen and Ed Gorr, Nicole Gorr
was an active child who could often be found attending a 4-H or FFA
meeting, playing outdoors, or helping someone; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from Tri-Valley High School, Nicole Gorr
majored in professional accounting at SUNY Oneonta and became a
certified public accountant; since 2010, she has worked in the tax
department of Granite Associates, L.P.; and

WHEREAS, Nicole Gorr is an active and dedicated member of her
Neversink, New York community; she is a vital member of both the
Neversink Chamber of Commerce and Neversink Renaissance, and serves as
the Treasurer of the Neversink Agricultural Society, which hosts the
Grahamsville Little World's Fair; and

WHEREAS, Nicole Gorr's love of the great outdoors has not subsided;
she is a member of the Champion Bum & Kels Softball Team and enjoys
hiking, kayaking, fishing and playing with her dog, Dakota and two cats;
when she has a quiet moment, she likes to read a good book; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nicole Gorr upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nicole Gorr.
