HONORING Ann DiSarro upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Trailblazers Award
by the Women's Fund of the Capital Region on March
10, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Ann DiSarro upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Trailblazers Award by the Women's Fund of the Capital Region, to be
celebrated at its 9th Annual Trailblazers Awards Luncheon on Friday,
March 10, 2017, at Glen Sanders Mansion, Scotia, New York; and

WHEREAS, Ann DiSarro has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; she has been selected for this auspicious award
for her generosity, spirit and leadership in blazing trails to make a
difference in the lives of women and girls in the community; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unremitting dedication to
volunteerism, Ann DiSarro has spent decades serving her community; she
devoted more than 25 years to Senior Services of Albany, prior to which
she served as director of Title V employment programs for the City of
Schenectady; and

WHEREAS, Since her retirement in 2006, Ann DiSarro has worked as a
consultant for numerous organizations serving senior citizens throughout
the Albany area; in addition, she serves on several non-profit boards;
and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Ann DiSarro has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Ann DiSarro, that future generations may know and appreciate their
admirable character, their many benevolent deeds, and their respect and
esteem in which they are held by their peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ann DiSarro upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Trailblazers Award by the Women's Fund of the Capital Region on
March 10, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ann DiSarro.
