COMMEMORATING the 65th Anniversary of Pat's Tire
Service

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly recognize those businesses within the State of New York
which have positively impacted their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 65th Anniversary of Pat's Tire Service; and

WHEREAS, Located at 501 Erie Boulevard West in Rome, New York, Pat's
Tire Service is currently owned and operated by Sue and Larry
Casalenuovo; and

WHEREAS, Pat's Tire Service was established in 1953, as a retread
shop out of the back of an automotive dealer by Larry's father, Pasquale
Casalenuovo; the business continued to operate out of the Pettinelli
building for its first few years before relocating to an old railroad
building; and

WHEREAS, After the move, Pat's Tire Service continued to evolve,
retreading tires for commercial vehicles which allowed for a fair deal
for the consumer and a profit for the family business; and

WHEREAS, During this time, Larry's mother, Mary Casalenuovo was a
fixture on the shop floor, working beside her husband daily; she truly
embodied the family ethos that has kept Pat's Tire Service in business
for 65 years; and

WHEREAS, Pasquale Casalenuovo ran Pat's Tire Service until 1987,
when he passed away, and Mary remained at the shop even after her
retirement in 2013, until her death in 2016; and

WHEREAS, Today, Pat's Tire Service is outfitted with specialized,
often computerized retreading equipment and has seen profound growth
since its humble beginnings on Martin Street; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 65-year history, Pat's Tire Service
has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities
which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of Pat's Tire Service is in direct correlation
to the efforts of Sue and Larry Casalenuovo and their dedicated staff,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the business and
the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Pat's Tire Service; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 65th Anniversary of Pat's Tire Service; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sue and Larry Casalenuovo, Pat's Tire Service.
