COMMEMORATING the 125th Anniversary of the FASNY
Firemen's Home
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
organizations and individuals whose singular purpose is the care and
welfare of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the FASNY Firemen's Home; and
WHEREAS, The FASNY Firemen's Home is a non-profit organization which
provides cost free quality nursing care to volunteer firefighters who
have served in New York State for one year or more in their lifetime;
and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be recognized with a two day
celebration, kicking off on Friday, May 19, 2017, with a Memorial
Service at FASNY Firemen's Home in Hudson, New York; a special
dedication will follow the ceremony to unveil the new seven-foot stained
glass Caring Window which symbolizes the dignity and pride in volunteer
service; and
WHEREAS, On Saturday, May 20, 2017, the City of Hudson Fire
Department will host its Inspection Day Parade followed by the FASNY
Museum of Firefighting's Muster, featuring hand-drawn, horse drawn and
motorized fire apparatus, as well as demonstrations, games and vendors;
and
WHEREAS, The commemoration of this auspicious milestone will
culminate with an Anniversary Dinner at Anthony's Banquet Hall in Leeds,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 125 year history, the FASNY
Firemen's Home has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the FASNY Firemen's Home is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the FASNY Firemen's Home; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the FASNY Firemen's Home, Hudson, New York.
