HONORING Malcolm Boone upon the occasion of his
induction into the Warwick Valley Boys Basketball
Hall of Fame by the Warwick Valley Central School
District on January 27, 2017

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
individuals whose exceptional athletic prowess leaves an enduring legacy
in their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Malcolm Boone upon the occasion of his induction into the Warwick Valley
Boys Basketball Hall of Fame by the Warwick Valley Central School
District on Friday, January 27, 2017; and

WHEREAS, The outstanding efforts, commitment, and past
accomplishments of Malcolm Boone on the hardwood have helped shape the
history of the Warwick Valley Wildcats Basketball Team and serve as an
inspiration to the current generation of players; and

WHEREAS, A 2008 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, Malcolm
Boone was a starter on the Varsity Basketball Team from 2006-2008; under
the tutelage of Head Coach Gary Vyskocil, he ended his career at Warwick
as the 13th All-Time Leading Scorer with 574 points; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed player was one of the key players on the
2007-2008 team which finished with a 15-5 regular season record, one of
the best in Warwick history; Malcolm Boone also led the Wildcats in
points scored, rebounds, blocked shots and dunks; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Malcolm Boone was selected as the 2006-2007
Defensive Player of the Year and chosen as the 2007-2008 team Offensive
and Defensive Player of the Year; he was also named to the Varsity 845
All-Star team as a 2nd team selection; and

WHEREAS, Malcolm Boone joined the college basketball team at
Keystone University where he was starting forward from 2010-2012; after
graduation, he went on to play professional basketball for three seasons
overseas in Germany; and

WHEREAS, Athletes like Malcolm Boone provide a tremendous service to
the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of
student-athletes in their athletic journeys and ensuring their success
in their future years; and

WHEREAS, Malcolm Boone has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of the Warwick Valley Central School District, as well as on the
community-at-large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause for
his impressive dedication to others; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Malcolm Boone upon the occasion of his induction into the Warwick
Valley Boys Basketball Hall of Fame by the Warwick Valley Central School
District; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Malcolm Boone.
